Yash P. Gupta is the first permanent dean of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, taking charge of the university's initiative to re-invent business education by arming students with both business skills and critical knowledge from other disciplines.

Here is his talk at TEDxMidAtlantic, A Tale of Two Cities: Baltimore, Maryland 1850 and Baltimore, Maryland 2010. The Samaritan Woman is dicussed as part of Baltimore's urban renewal.

American University Students Boost Baltimore Farm Production

Baltimore, MD (August, 2010) – American University faculty followed up on an invitation to visit The Samaritan Women and agreed to take on a pro bono development project to advance the work of the 2+ acre farm.

Seniors from the Computer Science program at AU will be defining the technical requirements and building a Web-based farm management database. This system will keep record of all the crops planted, harvested, sold or donated as well as the volunteer labor and donations that contribute to the success of this unique urban farm. More:: (PDF)

This past Monday was a phenomenal day. I usually have about two of these types of days per week and I’m always blown away as to how God orchestrates them. Monday is usually my day of rest. After preaching, praying, visiting the sick, and generally trying to encourage people during a long Sunday; Mondays are my sabbatical day (as it is with many Christian pastors).

But this past Monday, I was invited to a meeting with my friends from Baltimore Food & Faith. I couldn’t pass it up. The meeting was with a ministry out in West Baltimore called The Samaritan Women. I’d heard so many great things about this group that I had to go. READ MORE::
