Spiritual Formation
We are Christians. We believe
that a personal relationship with God is an essential
part of our Being that needs instruction, nurture, and
community. While The Samaritan Women will accept and
care for young women and families of all faiths, it is
important to communicate to you our beliefs and practices.
One of our primary areas of focus
is to help your daughter grow and mature as a spiritual
being. We believe that it will be up to her to define
her relationship to God; however, we can help facilitate
that exploration through what we do, how we interact,
and with our own lives. Some of the activities we encourage
to stimulate your daughter’s
spiritual formation may include:
- journaling
- participating in Bible study
- scrapbooking
- community service
- prayer partners
- literature reading and reflections
- daily “Praise and Petitions”
- art projects, poetry, singing, drama, and other creative
expressions.
Residents with privileges to leave the
property are permitted to attend the house of worship of
their choice, providing TSW can make arrangements for transportation
and supervision. A
home-church service will be offered to those who do not
have this privilege and who choose to participate.
