Volunteer & Work
Projects
We believe that a young woman’s
sense of self is best encouraged when she feels she has
something to give and can make a positive difference
in the lives of others.
It is important to building a sense
of community that all members participate in the culture
and operations of our homes; therefore, each girl will
be assigned some supportive duty/chore as her contribution
to the community. Chores
are designed to require no more than 3 hours/week.
POSSIBLE CHORES
- laundry
- gardening or lawn care
- light house keeping
- seasonal cleaning
- kitchen/dining helper
- meal planning/grocery shopping
- event support
Giving outside of the community is
also an important value at TSW. We encourage all
residents to devote up to 3 hours/week in some volunteer/charity
project.
POSSIBLE VOLUNTEER PROJECTS
- Making hand crafts for orphanages, infant nurseries
or senior centers
- Tutoring to other residents
- Volunteering at RICA-Baltimore
- Preparing and leading group discussions,
choir, or
Bible study
- Creating community entertainment and recreation programs
- Supporting projects that have been
voted on by the Community
